We have experienced a lot of rain in the past few weeks. In addition to scrambling to finish end -of-the-year irrigation blow-outs, drainage should be on your mind. Although the weather has cooled, the work is not yet over. Those looking to fit in a few last minute projects should consider drainage.

Pooling water in a homeowner’s yard is never a wanting thing. In many cases the water rolls down from a neighbor’s yard and resides in the lower lying space along the property line. Regardless, this is a problem you can resolve before the mosquitoes return in the spring.  According to Ryan Larsen, a civil engineer at NDS, “recommends using an underground drainage system (illustrated below) to safely and efficiently drain water that is flowing into your yard from a neighboring property. It consists of: two round NDS Spee-D basins with two atrium grates to collect surface water with molded in connection for drain pipe; two NDS EZ-Drain pre-fabricated, gravel-free trench drains that connect the components of the drainage system and carry the water to a safe release point; and an NDS pop-up emitter that provides an overflow release point for all excess water to drain from the drainage system.” As illustrated below, this design is quick and easy to install.  Click here to read more installation details and see the tools you will need to get the job done. Drainage is a great fall time service that can give your team that last push to finish out the year strong.
